What is a Paralegal?
A paralegal is a person who is specially trained to assist attorneys. Many paralegals have an associates or bachelors degrees but extra training is usually required for a paralegal degree. This training involves paralegal courses and legal instruction. These paralegal courses are similar to the courses of those receiving any other type of legal degree. Paralegal courses concentrate on the ins and outs of a variety of law and legal matters. After successful completion of a paralegal degree, a paralegal certificate is issued.

What does a Paralegal do?
A paralegal often serves as the attorney’s right hand man. The duties that will be assigned upon obtaining this legal degree always varies and constantly changes. It is often correlated to a lawyer’s case load and case difficulty, as well as reliant on the lawyer himself. Some things a paralegal may do include working with clients, speaking with witnesses, sorting through evidence, sitting in on trials, preparing minutes, summarizing legal documents, performing research, coordinating records, checking legal forms, preparing reports and correspondence, and drafting legal documents.

A paralegal certificate is a great way to get started on a career you will never forget. It’s also a great way to get a front seat to the excitement and thrill of our justice system.
