Doctorate Degree
Doctorate degrees are the ultimate in education. They typically take between two and six years to complete, but the actual coursework might be completed in as few as four semesters. The rest of the course is then dedicated to research and works experience.
Whilst most people think of a doctorate degree as a PhD, this title only applies to those in the field of research. PhD stands for doctor of philosophy, and there are various other abbreviations for other fields of study. These include EngD for a doctor of engineering, MD for a doctor of medicine, EdD for a doctor of education and DBA for a doctor of business administration.There are various different criteria o be accepted into a doctorate degree program, each of which depends on your chosen field of study. However, it will normally be necessary to have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, recommendation letters and the satisfactory completion of an entry test.
Whilst entering into a doctorate degree program is a huge commitment, the career opportunities and increased earning levels over your lifetime make this a worthwhile consideration.
