What's it all about?

How will I learn?
Learning customer service skills is done through a combination of both theoretical and practical learning. Expect a large amount of role-playing exercises to get you used to actually dealing with 'live' situations. These might take place face to face, over the phone or via the internet. You'll learn about the industry expectations for customer service representatives – no matter what career path this might be. You can also expect various exercises that will introduce you to, and help you gain further knowledge, into the subject of human psychology. You'll learn why people act in the way they do, along with key triggers that can be used to actively help and direct a person's behavior. Learning will be presented using many different forms, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and coursework, along with theoretical and practical exercises.
After gaining my degree, what options are open to me for employment?
You might think that all customer service jobs are about working in large call centers. And certainly, many people are very happily employed in this manner. But taking customer service training can lead to many different careers, and the skills you learn will benefit you for the rest of your working life. These might include jobs such as working in the vacation and leisure industry, banking, insurance carriers and agencies, the health service, education or any other industry where you deal with people on a regular basis. No matter which direction your career takes, customer service skills are something that can be used and adapted again and again.
