international-mgmt-schoolOne thing’s for sure, the business world is certainly getting smaller. And with even the smallest of companies regularly trading with customers from the four corners of the globe, a qualification from an international management school is fast becoming an extremely valuable asset for any employee. Not only will you learn about the intricacies of cross border trading, but you’ll also learn at least one foreign language and develop a necessary understanding of the world’s different cultures. International business depends on many different variables, including those of the political and social environment, which are highly likely to be very different to that of your own country. International management training is all about gaining the knowledge to help your management and marketing skills become a truly global affair. Read more »

What’s it all about?
With the advent of the internet, there’s probably not a successful company on the planet that doesn’t carry out regular trade with customers in different countries. Of course, the general language of business does tend to be English, however it is very usual for certain meanings to be lost in translation. And once you throw cultural, social, economic and political differences into the mix then you end up with situations that can very easily be misconstrued. This is what training at an international management school is all about. You’re likely to be able to choose a language to learn – such as French, Spanish or German. However, with the Asian countries now becoming economic forces to be reckoned with, you might even get the opportunity to learn an appropriate language from this area of the world, should you so wish. Other elements of your international management training will include business studies, marketing, economics, politics and/or history.

What will I learn?
All international management schools have their own individual manner of presenting their course syllabus. However, you can expect your training to cover the following:

  • A language – perhaps German, Spanish, French or a language of your choice
  • Business finance and international marketing
  • Global economics
  • Global politics
  • International business law
  • Communication skills
  • Management skills

How will I learn?
Your education will be delivered via a large variety of mediums. These will include the traditional lectures and tutorials, along with utilizing 21st century technology to aid your learning. Language study is likely to take place through small group learning and, depending on your particular international management school, might even include placements in other countries. Because communication is such a large part of international management then you can expect your grammar, oral and written abilities to be tested and honed to the highest standards possible – both in English and your chosen language of study. Qualifications are judged on both continuous assessment modules and final examinations.

After gaining my degree, what options are open to me for employment?
After qualification you will end up ideally equipped for a career in the exciting world of international management, marketing and/or business. Your language skills will also serve you well, and you could think of following a career path into the world of banking, advertising, communication, retail or any level of management or marketing in a business with an international presence. Not only could you follow the corporate career path, but a qualification in international management will also see you well placed should you wish to start up your own business.« Collapse
